  • I am confused

DPP Paula Llewellyn went to the High Court to have the Rm recuse herself from the Cuban light bulb case, got turned down and then renewed her application in front of the judge again today?????

Wonder if Gamma can shed some light here?

    Is she just being stubborn

The DPP's request was denied not on its merits but on a procedural matter...no?

Listening to a former Deputy in the DPP's office, he said Paula is being timid as she should have already filed a "nolle prosequi". We'll just have to wait and see.

Based on what is reported in the media, the RM is certainly behaving a way.

The renewal comes days after Supreme Court judge Justice Lloyd Hibbert last week threw out Llewellyn's motion seeking a judicial review of what she said was Pusey's refusal in open court to entertain the said application for her to recuse herself from presiding over the trial. In dismissing the application, Hibbert said that Llewellyn's motion was premature, in light of the fact that the application for Pusey to recuse herself was not made in the magistrate's court

ok. it makes sense. well after what happened on the first day, the application should be RIPE for the supreme court when pusey either dismisses the application or rules not to recuse herself.

not a pretty scene at all, the stage is set though, the growingacrimony will eventually amount to something tangible IMHO.

thought so as the merits of the application were not tested

Maybe but wouldn't it be better if say Paula recused herself and give it to one of her able deputies like Dirk?

huh? ... would that leave Pusey on the bench?
