Veteran journalist shot and injured in Montego Bay
    2010-11-25 13:03:12 | (5 Comments)

A veteran journalist was shot and injured by gunmen moments ago in a robbery in Montego Bay, St. James.

The journalist was shot and injured around 1.30 p.m. today after he challenged gunmen who had held up an insurance company on Union Street in the second city.

Details garnered by The Gleaner are that the journalist was present in the insurance office, which is located on the same building as the JIS office, when the gunmen began robbing the entity.

Reports are that he challenged the men and during the exchange was shot.

He was then rushed to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he is now undergoing treatment. The gunmen escaped with an undetermined sum of money.

A large contingent of police is now on the scene.

It is not me. Although I bet a few here were ready to start celebrating

The man who was shot is a good friend of mine however and my twin sister's boss.

He is doing well and reports are that he suffered just a flesh wound a nd should be out of the hospital soon

Boss, I do not think anyone on the forum would celebrate if you were harmed. Some forumites may see the world differently from you, but at the end of the day we all wish each other well.

Could have been anyone in this situation as he walked into the men as they were getting away just after 1:00pm

LOL! veteran means being in the business long time and from my recollection I have been in the business longer than Brian has.

I started in 1982...If I could count that high without using my chest and fingers I would tell you how long that has been
