JAMAICA Labour Party activists in West St Thomas want Jamaicans to pray for their Member of Parliament James Robertson following allegations made against him which have seen the police launch an investigation and the complainant offered witness protection.
In a release today the JLP West St Thomas Executive threw its full support behind the embattled energy minister and called the allegations by complainant Ian Johnson "vicious and unsubstantiated".
"The JLP West St Thomas executive went on to state that it is angered by what is a clear attempt to demonise the character of a good, decent and very hardworking Member of Parliament. Mr Robertson has also been at the forefront of efforts to stamp out corruption and extortion in the constituency and parish on a whole," said the Labourites.
They praised Robertson for running what they said were 'clean and professional political campaigns' a and that his good standing in the constituency was reflected by a victory margin of more than 2,000 votes in the 2007 general election which brought the JLP to power.
