No not necessarily, if the results of a poll were that most Jamaicans say duppies exist, it may be an accurate reflection on what Jamaicans think about the existence of duppies, but it doesn't mean that the opinion is true and that duppies actually exist. It is an opinion, which is clearly influenced by a number of subjective influences, such as culture. The same poll in say Canada would proabaly produce a completely different result because of the same reason. Because opinion polls are not objective!
