THUGS LINK TO FIGHT COPS
Investigations by THE STAR have revealed that since the military incursion of Tivoli Gardens in May, criminals who were once enemies are now working together.
This, in an effort to make the duties of the police even more difficult while they work to dismantle gangs and curb the country's alarming crime rate.
Using what they call a 'perfect example', thugs pointed to a recent incident involving the alleged leader of the notorious Clansman gang, Tesha Miller and Keifa Ogilvie, son of west Kingston businessman Justin Ogilvie.
The two men were charged with assault following a reported incident involving a policeman who was allegedly beaten by them while they were being held at Kingston Central police lock-up under the recent state of emergency.
The matter is still before the court.
"Look pon dat, one time yu woulda neva hear seh man like dem deh a link like dat. Man a help man fight police, one a labourite and one a PNP ... Di police a pressure wi so wi affi come together to and hold dem off," a highly respected thug from Spanish Town, St Catherine, explained.

According to the gang member who strongly requested anonymity, he is aware of several such cases across the island.
"A nuh just Spain (Spanish Town) alone, man and man who was once enemy a link now, dat a gwaan all ova Jamaica but if yu nuh know di streets it ago new to yu," he said.
THE STAR made checks in east Kingston and found that happening there as well too. Men from the communities in Mountain View who are notorious for fighting each other are said to be now working in unity.

Thugs as well as residents from both communities spoke of a recent incident in which thugs from one community were given the go-ahead to seek refuge in 'enemy territory' while the police carried out an operation in the other area. Guns were also allowed to be hidden in the community.
"Believe you me, people see di man dem a come cross and a pure run up and dung, kill dem dead a shot di man dem did a come fi fire pon dem," another well known thug from one of the communities said.
"A we affi spread di word and mek people know seh a we let dem inna di place cause di babylon (police) dem run een ova fi dem place," he added.
Police sources from these areas say they have heard about the occurrence and as such did not deny that it was happening.
They were, however, quick to express that it will only be a matter of time until the so-called peace is broken.
"This is all because of pressure and we will continue to pressure them. It is no doubt that if men who were once enemies are now linking, in time they will go back to being enemies, and usually it is something very simple which causes that," a senior officer from the Organised Crime Investigation Division told THE STAR.
In a recent interview, Head of the CIB, Assistant Commissioner Les Green, said pressure from the security forces would force criminals into creating unique ways of helping each other.
