  • 80,000 lose jobs under Golding Govt – Simpson-Miller

Opposition Leader Portia Simpson Miller has taken aim at the Bruce Golding administration's record on the economy.

Mrs. Simpson Miller highlighted the number of jobs lost in the economy since 2007 while speaking to party supporters at her the People's National Party's 72nd annual conference at the National Arena on Sunday.

"Mr. Golding's own admission, more than 80,000 jobs have been lost from the economy since he has been in office … this means that every month since Mr. Golding has been in office, 2,000 Jamaicans have lost their jobs," she said.

Mrs. Simpson Miller added that getting people back to work will be a priority of her government if she is re-elected.

Communist Cuba laying off 1 million.

The only reason why it seems like the US government not laying off is because it is been done by local government and school districts so the amount don't show up in one big number.
