  • Men sentenced for Munster Road gun and ammo seizure

The three men who pleaded guilty in July to a major gun smuggling racket arising from the massive seizure of guns and ammunition a premises on Munster Road in East Kingston, have been sentenced.
Garnett Pennington, the owner of the premises, was sentenced to 10 years in prison when he appeared before the Gun Court on Friday afternoon.
Charles Morris and David Blagrove, who were employed as groundsmen at the Police Armoury at Elletson Road, received harsher sentences.
They were each sentenced to a total of 125 years on the 18 counts of possession of illegal firearm and ammunition, but will each serve 13 years behind bars.
The man at the centre of the racket Sergeat Russel Robinson, who pleaded not guilty, is to stand trial on September 13.
The four were charged following the theft of 18 guns and more than 11,000 rounds of ammunition from the Police Armoury on Elletson Road.
The stolen guns and ammunition were recovered during a raid on premises on Munster Road February 4.
Investigators say the guns and ammunition were to be sold to elements in the criminal underworld.

Why do they keep doing stuff like this. Is it to cause the defendant to urinate on himself?

Is it just me or does the sentence sound a bit lenient

of course it is lenient! you can be in charge of somewhere like that and get off so light? how long could they have been doing this? (yes, i know you can't sentence someone with that in mind.) how many people lost their lives because of their actions? is not like they were guarding Mega Mart's warehouse.
