An English colleague just came up to me with a complaint that his son just sat the English paper in the International Baccalaureate and the main part for the comprehension was written in Jakan creole!!
Of course, they were livid, as they thought it was unfair and they were thrown for a loop. he even asked me if poatois was a written language, as he thought it was only spoken (correct) like say Swiss German.
I told him it reminded me of when I sat the SAT exam and one of the comprehension papers was written in US Southern black creole. I had to read it in my head and translate like I was watching a movie and so it was slow and I did not finish in time.
Just wanted to put this out thre for general digestion.
