  • Outrage! .....Savage murder of cop, daughter won't sap will to fight crime, say Phillips, Thomas

No wonder people feel that JFJ doesn't care about cops.

"Human rights group Jamaicans For Justice also added their voice to the chorus of condemnation, saying the attacks on the cops' relatives were "disturbing"." - truth is they said much more than that. I have the press release. But, let the media continue with their misleading reports. The JFJ shall not be deterred.

this is just plain sick... nevermind the misleading reporting, the fact is there is a grave sickness that permeates the jamaican society and we desperately need a cure...

mosiah, you might disagree with this, the way to cure this sickness will be to restrict some of our rightsuntil the society finds its way to civility and order...it willrequire a strong leader...

In the short term, certain rights may need to be restricted for the long term security of the nation. This should be done within the law, and those at the bottom of the economic ladder should not bear the blunt of any short term enhanced security strategy.

I doubt "we" have the background and heart to come up with anything worthwhile. As per usual, we are outraged for a short time period, and then we move on to the next blood bath.

Baddaz (1/3/2007)this is just plain sick... nevermind the misleading reporting, the fact is there is a grave sickness that permeates the jamaican society and we desperately need a cure...

Baddaz, I've long said this. I have no problem with restrictions of our rights to restore law and order in society. When we have flare ups in some 2x4 area of Arnett, say, I want our security forces to cordone off the entire area and search room by room, backyard by backyard for the guns and for the people who fired them. But this also requires that we have a police force we can trust.

For too long we have allowed a few people from tiny communities to cause problems for so many of us. But yes, baddaz, there is no political leader who will do what it takes to get us back on the path of sanity and safety.
