POLICE are hopeful they can, within a couple days, charge a man who they suspect stabbed another to death at a premises on Kirk Avenue, St Andrew last Thursday.
"He has not yet been charged, but hopefully we can secure a lawyer for him so we can carry on with the questioning, hopefully by later this week," said Deputy Superintendent Altermoth Campbell, anti-crime officer for the St Andrew North Division.
Campbell said police responding to screams found the nude body of 35-year-old Derrick Lord, with multiple stab wounds.
A search was conducted in the area and the suspect was found wearing a bloody shirt, and in possession of a knife, which is believed to be the murder weapon.
"It was the quick action by the cops on patrol that led to the arrest, they must be commended," said Campbell.
