Athletes turned entrepreneurs take business world by storm

    By Lauren McCurdy, CNBC.com
In today's sports-crazed world, athletes like Lebron James and Tony Hawk have quickly become household names. But it's not just their sport that's making them famous.

Athletes are becoming known for their entrepreneurship and savvy business deals — earning more off the playing field than on. From personalized apparel to multimillion dollar investment companies, see why these athletes truly "score" in the business world.

There is nothing more that he can do on the track to make it happen. If 9.6 doesn't do it then 9.4 won't do it.

It has to be his management team that makes it happen

he needs to secure himself financially....yes he is making a lot of money now..but look at jordan and wlliams...they made their significant investments well into thir career.

he has to be smart and pragmatic....he doesn't have forever but he also shouldn't just run out and buy a car dealership now! the landscape is littered with those casualties

Agreed. Or a restaurant! That is a popular one for pro athletes who have money to burn.

I do want to see him making bigger money from his endorsement and branding deals. That is the one with the shorter life span. The business opportunites will always be there.

Here is an interesting perspective from a bredrin:

Glad to see, we are not the only ones that have been saying this. John Terry or Steven Gerrard or Wayne Rooney is earning more than Bolt, madness !

Not good enough, he may need to speak to LeBron James, or better yet got to the top man himself. Warren Buffet!

Bolt needs to make linkages with qualified and experienced Jakans who wish him well and would aid him in his off track ventures. Mi know nouff fans who would help him for free ... just out of gratitude for what he has done for the country.

Him better move fast like LeBron James though.
