why do you say this? I would think the JFJ would want justice for the deceased constable just like any citizen of JA regardless of who they are. You think Dr Gomes (and Mo) is so callous? because of her pronouncements against police when they abuse their power.

Cop killer identified

Police have released the identity a man who was killed after he attacked a cop and killed him at his home on Langston Road in East Kingston on Sunday.

Special Corporal Jermaine Cummings was killed when a gang of hoodlums attacked him as he attempted to enter his home.

One of his attackers has been identified as Chevis Hamilton of a North Street downtown Kingston address. The rest are still at large.

Since the death of the cop the police high command has described the murder of the Special Corporal as a despicable act of cowardice which must be condemned by all Jamaicans and raised the threat level against members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force to very high.

Homicide investigators are still trying to identify the other men who took part in the deadly attack.

Cummings in the second cop to be shot and killed in a week and is the eight poice officer to be killed since the start of this year.

Oh they need not say a word because the cop is killed? Had it been the other two terrorists, you would be on here shouting that they were butchered by the cop.

I know some of you guys wouldn't mind if the criminals take over the island but for me with little cash to spare I can illafford that.

Three police officers have been killed since the start of the SOE. The humans rights brigade need to be careful, if they get their way and with the way things are going, who is going to stop the gun men from kicking down their door?


Police raise threat level to ‘Extreme’

THE police high command has raised the threat level against its members to ‘Extreme’, following the murders of three policemen in three separate incidents over the last several days.
‘Extreme’ means that the risk of attacks by criminals on police personnel and facilities is imminent, the police said today.
“Our intelligence and the actions of criminals over the last week indicate calculated assaults on police personnel as we continue to disrupt and displace criminal gangs across the island. It is therefore imperative that all police personnel be on high alert at all times by taking extra security precautions to protect themselves and their colleagues,” Commissioner of Police Owen Ellington said after a meeting this morning with his executive management board.
Ellington has also ordered that the Police Control Centre broadcast security reminders to all police personnel on a regular basis in order to keep members alert.
Special Constable James Lemmie, 22, became the ninth police officer to be murdered by criminals since the start of the year. Lemmie was murdered on Young Street in Spanish Town last night. He was attached to the St Catherine North Police Division.
