A serial mugger of seniors got 16 years in prison on Wednesday - and the judge invited a photographer into the courtroom despite the suspect's efforts to shield his face from the public.
The bizarre scene unfolded after Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Richard Carruthers allowed a Daily News photographer to take pictures inside the courtroom, overriding objections from Robert Stewart's lawyer, Bajel Shah.
Shah spent the entire proceeding covering her client's face with a file folder.
Despite her efforts to obscure Stewart, the shutterbug eventually got his photo when the Paterson, N.J., man walked back to the lockup.
"I believe you reap what you sow, in the case of my actions," Stewart said before being sentenced.
Stewart, 52, pleaded guilty to a string of robberies in Manhattan.
