The Cabinet has endorsed the appointment of five members to the Casino Gaming Commission.
They are insurance executive, Dennis Lalor, digital printing executive, Mark Roberts, Attorneys-at-law Afeef Lazarus, Dennis Edmunds and chartered accountant, Rafael Gordon.
The appointees will serve until June 2012.
They will govern the conduct of casino gaming and grant licenses to people involved in the industry
within an approved integrated resort development.
The commission will also grant personal licenses to individuals in management positions or who carry out operational functions in the industry.
The Commission must also ensure that casino gaming is conducted fairly, legally and in a manner, which protects children and vulnerable persons.
Casino projects are expected to generate about 33 thousand jobs in Jamaica.
