  • So the tunnels are real or not???

In a recent Mark Wignall's Observer column, it was written that Both Eddie Seaga and Mutty Perkins refuted suggestions that tunnel(s) exist in Tivoli.

It's interesting that in one of today's article: "The security forces said that they have also located underground tunnels, originally built as storm drains, which they suspect might have been used by Coke and some of his cronies to flee the community."
"The contribution of forumites and others who visit shouldn’t be discounted, and offending people shouldn’t be the first thing on our minds. Most of us are educated and can do better." Mi bredrin Sass Jan. 29,2011

They didn't previously know the location of the storm drains?

Does that change whether or not it was used as a tunnel for the men to flee?

Please don't come with the simplistic argument...Who dug the "tunnels"? Who gave the order for the "tunnels" to be dug?

But that would be the reason for the security forces to say they suspect that it was used, but without proof we'll never know.

For bredda desmond to say that its not a tunnel because its a storm drain is quite myopic and simple minded.

There are storm drains all over the island but none, apart from those in Tivaarli, are big enough to fit human beings. Portmore got some that lead to a gully but those can barely even fit dogs.

other communities have large drains, but many you'd have to get on all fours to move thru. the TG one seemed bigger.

the main point is, if it is used for more than the transport of water, (storm or potable) (or sewage), and people use it for passage of themselves or goods, then it's a tunnel.

not sure it has been established that the TG tunnels did more than just carry water. but if i can believe the torture story then i can believe the tunnel story too!

I always find in fascinated that the leaders of the community can say without a doubt they are no tunnels. I wonder if they would say they are no torture chambers or shallow graves. What is it they know for sure.

once there was some work being done downtown and they dug up a road, underneath the road was a cavern with remnants of tram rails and brick road
