An article in a leading US investment publication-‘Oppenheimer’ has commended the Jamaican government for the ongoing operation in West Kingston to capture alleged drug boss Christopher 'Dudus' Coke.
The article published on June 7 was written by Dr. Carl Ross Managing Director of Investments. It said that the offensive should be "viewed as an extraordinary bold move by a government that has finally committed itself to making deep structural changes"
Ross’ article commended Prime Minister Bruce Golding saying that in going after Coke he is risking his political life. ‘He is willing to be a one-term Prime Minister if he can get his country on the right track.’
The operation into West Kingston to execute the extradition warrant for Coke resulted in over 70 lives being lost, with members of the security forces and civilians dying.
The number of weapons which have been seized is now at 75, with close to 13,000 rounds of assorted ammunition also captured.
