POPULAR singer Faith D'Aguilar appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court after a stolen cannon was found at her home where she operates an antique store.
D'Aguilar, a former festival gold and silver medal winner, is charged with unlawful possession of property and reportedly told the police that she bought the cannon from a man.
The court was told that the cannon, which is one of two cannons that were stolen from a heritage site in Runaway Bay, St Ann, was found at D'Aguilar's home in the Kingston 10 area on June 2.
Police say the national monument was found on D'Aguilar’s veranda covered by a piece of cloth.
The other cannon was reportedly found in the Constant Spring Area.
On Tuesday, when the matter was mentioned before Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey, the investigating officer told the court that the matter was still being investigated. Another mention date was then set for June 22.
D'Aguilar's bail was extended.
