17 guns, 156 rounds of ammunition seized over the weekend

POLICE this weekend seized 17 illegal weapons and 156 rounds of assorted ammunition.
Most of the weapons and ammunition were found in West Kingston where security forces have camped out in the volatile communities of Denham Town and Tivoli Gardens. The police have also raided the neighbouring community of Matthews Lane and its environs.
Three AK47 assault rifles, two 9mm pistols and .45 semi-automatic pistol and 82 rounds of ammunition were found by the police in West Kingston.
The rest of the weapons were seized in the Corporate Area, St Catherine, St James, Clarendon and Hanover.
