The mindset of the people is warped. I remember as a youth walking along E. Queen Street in mi school uniform one day where some thugs were chasing a man that they assumed was an outsider, and shouted at the guy to explain where he came from. If a bus driver did not slow down and offer the man a ride to escape the thugs, the man would have received more stab wounds and likely killed.

We elect government fi change it right?

It has been done in NY. It has been done in my former little town of Spring Valley NY and it can be done in Jamaica in short time. We need the will power and better leaders.

To say it have to take generation or long term in my view is a cop out. We need a plan and some action to address it NOW.

I agree, much can be down about crime now (with funds available and political will) especially with gangs and organised crime, which make up the majority of murders in Jamaica. But its clear that in some areas, a culture of violence has been formed, which will take atleast a generation to reverse. Jamaica can't afford to wait much longer to seriously address the gang issue.

Portland is beautiful, but I way more familiar with St Elizabeth because of family, so St Bess will always be the place for me! Too be honest all of Jamaica is beautiful, except for Clarendon and certain parts of Kingston (I like Kingston though).

For me, Portland is beautiful, but it's the people of St. Bess that make it so special. And I have to be specific - south St. Bess!
