that the music brought the culture to a wider audience and therefore the MUSIC had an impact in the effect that it had on culture. it really is not a difficult concept.

music is the medium that took it to a whole other level. i know you understand the point but yuh just being...well a bricktop.

question, ballon boy...do you think the explosion of reality tv shows played ANY role in why that man put his family in the position that he did?

anyway, this is now being repetitive and as i say, i'm pretty sure yuh get it but choose to differ ... so be it.

Richard Heene had pursued careers in acting and stand-up comedy without success and, for a time, he and his wife ran a business out of his home producing demo reels for actors.
Reality TV made him do it or the fact that he was a failed actor desperate to make it? Right back to my original point...

the proliferation and success of reality tv shows made him come up with the scheme...the FACT the was a failed actor provided the impetus to do SOMETHING....tv culture provided him with the AVENUE and also determined WHAT he would do because of the outcome he desired.

Only part of your post that's pertinent, the "why"...he was a failed actor long before reality tv...his situation caused him to act...

and what created the opportunity and dictated HOW he would act? he could have stood by the road side and put up a sign...."will act for food" or something.... point of order though , i don't know if he failed "long before reality tv" but even if he did, it s in the era of reality tv that he cae up with this scheme

it is inescapable.... is like saying that the internet has not caused child pornoraphy to explode!!!! there were paedophiles before but the internet has enabled them to a great degree.....persons take more chances becauae of the relative anonymity. did the internet invent or cause it NO...but it presented a medium to proliferate it.

That's not the issue...people don't surf the internet, stumble on naked kids then all of a sudden decide they want to sex them...they are predisposed to such behaviour and seek it out on the internet...music doesn't cause people to be deviant...they are predisposed to such behaviour and seek out music that may deal with such topics...I don't understand why yuh jumping over that and gone to another issue all together...yes the music, internet etc. serves as a platform but that's not the issue at hand..

did anyone say dancehall created violence, slackness or the gun culture or that the internet created paedophelia? i don't think so!

slackness been been around so too has violence ..... but nuh like now! hat i have been saying from the get gois that it perpetuates and encourages and proliferates and the accessiility through music and the internet is a large part of it.

al qaued uses the net, if there was no al qaeda would there still be terrorists? but it would be ridiculous not to realise that it makes certain things moe accessible to people who would otherwise not have had access to it.

of interest look up an italian dj roberto milano who did a song called "children" under the name robert miles...look at the interesting fact of why and how he came up with that song

Encourages and proliferates in those predisposed to such behaviour...big difference...deal with the root issue...what are the conditions that lead to this predisposition!!!
