THE St Andrew North police are investigating the suspected suicide of Brian Lee, son of former Jamaica Labour Party member of Parliament and junior minister for agriculture, Brascoe Lee.
Lee was found dead in his East Avenue home in St Andrew Monday morning by neighbours who summoned the police.
"He was found about 6:45 this (Monday) morning. His neighbours did not see him since Sunday and they forced open his door and found his body," Deputy Superintendent in charge of crime for the St Andrew North Division Altermoth 'Parra' Campbell told the Observer.
Lee's licensed 9mm pistol was found beside his body, which had a single gunshot wound to the head.
"We suspect suicide, but we are investigating all angles," Campbell said.
Police say Lee's neighbours did not hear any explosions.
Yesterday, a police source said Lee may have taken his life over the loss of a hefty sum in a failed investment scheme.
