  • Opposition in Jamaica walks out of Parliament

Opposition Members of Parliament in Jamaica walked out of the sitting of the House of Representatives a short while ago.

The members took up their belongings and exited the chamber shortly after the House began its business.

No explanations were given by the opposition for the walk out.

Its members are expected to hold a press conference shortly.

However the Opposition members stormed out of Gordon House after the leader of Opposition business in the Lower House Derrick Kellier, was told by the Leader of Government business, Andrew Holness, that the Jamaican Prime Minister, Bruce Golding, would not be making a statement in Parliament today.
"Jamaica's future reflects its past, having attained only one per cent annual growth over 30 years whilst neighbours have grown at five per cent." (Article)
