Actually the objects really close to the camera are clear, but further away it gets very difficult to discern them. For instance at one point the camera picks up a couple of rather bulky objects in the trees. At first I was wondering if those were bodies caught in the trees, but then the camera gets closer to one of these "objects" and it turns out to be a bulky portion of the trunk itself partly obscured in the smoke.
