  • Time and again those with ulterior motives

try their best to give the impression Shaw is clueless. Well, he may be clueless but unless he is cooking the books what does his detractors have to say about the facts?

"As in previous years, debt-servicing of $240 billion accounts for the largest portion of the budget (47%), but is significantly reduced compared to a share of 60% last year."
"Jamaica's future reflects its past, having attained only one per cent annual growth over 30 years whilst neighbours have grown at five per cent." (Article)

    Opps ..

"It is significant to note that these interest rates are the lowest they have been in 24 years. " (Budget Presentation).

I can hear Omar next week rebuting these numbers by claiming they're not credible.

Lazie that is mainly because of the JDX.

The fact is Shaw need to get a grip of the day to runnings. He has a big picture and is attacking it which is good but like Omar Davis his projection of revenue is way off. He has to do a better job of either collecting or projecting better. His overall vision of lowering interest rate and reducing the % of debt is good. He only needs to grow the GDP and the economy while passing IMF test.

Yuh mek it sound as if the JDX didn't occur under his watch. Less money going to service debt enables the gov't to provide more service. Yes the economy need to grow, we're on the same page there, but realise that with lower rates a potential business owner should be able to borrow at better rates to start that business.

                  yeah thank God.

Our interest rate shouldn't be that high ever again. Now is time for at least a 3 percent growth per year.

Audley is not the smartest around town and sometimes he follows some of the stupidity that Collister tells him, but his performance in that office so far have been far superior to that of Omar Davies. Omar is a million times smarter, but his performance was horrible to say the least.
