  • When the dancehall was saved

When U-roy, Ranking Joe and Trinity gave us an overdose of toasting
then came Lone Ranger, Kojak, Michigan, Althea and Donna etc. to give us to give us some "riddim riding".

Then came General Echo, Ringo, Nicodimus, Metro and others to start the all island sound system craze.

Then came Briggy, Josey, Charlie etc to give us an overdose of "Culture".

Yellowman came and saved us and became the first Dancehall Superstar.

Just as yellow passed came Admiral Bailey and Tiger to save the day.

Then came Shabba to take it to another level overseas and ninja locally.

At a time when the music was going down then came Shaggy to take it to the next level, which was followed by Sean Paul, Jr Gong and Beenie Man etc.

Who will run the next leg. Who have the talent, the vibes and willing to take it to the next level? yes you have overseas reggae band but the kind of vibes and style that can be harnest in Ja can be done anywhere else.

Step up now the next Super Star.

From the baton was passed or taken away by yellowman , it became an obituary eulogised in and with slackness and gunman/badmaness.

It died a long time ago in my youth and I danced away and gave gun finger salutes like everyone else , in the nine nights of dance hall.

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.
