Shares could have been easily sold to the public an Jakan diaspora. This money would circulate in the local economy. Same plantation politics of rewarding friends. Ja will never inprove under this heading.

JA people voted for the assets of their tax paying dollars to be given away.

You do realise that they are not selling the asset, right?

Iman my concern is here:there is the possibility that the actual management of it could be privatised in a negotiation that would involve significant investment in new attractions,. The new managers will invest for the fun of it? This is shaping up to be a lease; where the new management can cream of profits (via adding some attractions).

The people of a should stand up and be counted when it comes to tourism. Any form of privitization should be sold as shares to the Jakan people and I'm talking about regulr jakan people.

All beaches should be free too.

But privatizing the management of a popular tourist attraction that as far as we know doesn't run losses into the billions of dollars is fairly straightforward. Who wouldn't want to manage that and at the same time have government guarantee? It would only be about making something that is good more efficient.

On the other hand privatizing the management of entities which apparently have been loss makers for about 4 decades and have had numerous problems relating to politics (politicians always getting free flights in first-class for instance), management (inept) and staff (for instance I know some people in the CAA who long ago vowed never to fly a particular airline since their sponsored seats (as part of a general government business and inter-agency agreement) were being frequently taken away by certain pilots in order to fly their friends...) is never going to be easy, because smart managers wouldn't touch those entities with 100-ft poles and radiation-protecting suits. Some might relish the challenge, but I can't imagine very many would want to risk reputation and fortune in attempting it.
