what is it about the catholic church that seems to attract paedophiles or is it that by becoming priest the chances of being a paedophile is increased?

It is looking more and more to me as if the Catholic church had become a "secret society" for peadophiles. Easy pickings, heads turned the other way.
Over the decades the word got around that this was the best place for peadophiles to hide in full sight.

This sh!t is so disgusting and I was watching BBC news a few days ago where some deaf adults, who were abused as kids were asking the vatican to do the right thing and acknowledge their misdeeds. How can someone be a catholic and have a clear conscience these days? The response from the vatican is nothing short of repulsive!

I have a feeling that the levels of paedophile (by the church) in Africa --would make the incidence in Italy, Germany the US and Ireland look minor.

true about the other churches..i mean pastor tends to his flock etc... the catholic church takes it to a whole other level.....they take this vow of chastity and then have practices like self flagellation, which it is reported that that the late pope paul practiced ...... AND the cover up not by a parish church but by the VATICAN itself!

Just curious why would you think the incidences of these repulsive practices would be on par or greater in Africa?.
