PJ is a distant second to Bruce and Bruce have a team that is committed.. PNP have Portia..do the Math...

PJ got the PNP to win the majority in 4 straight elections because the alternative was Seaga. Yuh know, the same Seaga who was always running in what is now Bruce constituency and was getting old and only look like he wanted to be PM one more time just for the sake of being PM one more time....

PNP could have put a literal jackass to run in any other constituency and they would still have won a majority simply because it was the JLP losing the elections all by themselves.

Then when PJ and Seaga both left the scene we've been left with two sides of the same coin - Bruce and Portia who both run in garrison constituencies and thus represent the same thing (nearly formalized links between the criminal world and the political world). Note that the election was very close - it wasn't close because people genuinely believed either was good, it was close because there is little practical difference between the two parties (as represented by their leaders) now. PJ could be have been a distant fourth to Bruce and it wouldn't matter. Once PJ was running in a rural seat and Bruce running in West Kingston, in all probability PJ would have won a 4th term as it wouldn't tek nutin for PJ to point out Bruce connections and scare weh some voters.
