Marks to hand over day-to-day running, readies firm for JSE listing

    Huntley Medley,
    Contributing Editor - Business
Businesswoman Audrey Marks is getting ready to give up the reins of Paymaster Jamaica Limited, the pioneering bill-payment company she launched in 1997, and has run since then as its chief executive officer (CEO).

But in an interview with Wednesday Business , she said the move to bring in fresh talent did not mean the company was up for sale.
Instead, Marks is strengthening the management structures and personnel of her business as a precursor to taking the firm public.

One thing I can say she "keeps it real". That's a confident woman right there. I like her. Pity most of the Jakan nationals are on the periphery when it comes on to making money (other than that they are forced in to the underground economy to make money, hence wasting their organizational and business skills).

I really would like the higglers get a shot at the tourist industry; something tells me the whole island would benefit (just my gut feeling).

Not saying Marks is an higgler; just string to step away from the traditional business people in Ja. I see Marks as non traditional.

BTW marks watch yourself; nuff badmine one out there want to see you fail because you are doing something that they lacked the vision to do. Do your homework thoroughly, seek wise counsel in divers palces (if you can).
