Unfortunately yes!! ....as much as or even moreso than than the PNP. The jury is in and the verdict decided...in the court of public opinion at home and abroad. Our 2 tribes are diseased and dying....as I have maintained for years. Unfortunately they are taking the country down with them.
In recent times the tribe in power has:
1. Declared Tivoli as a "model for development of Jamaica"...this by none other than Bruce Golding (pre or post the box dung I don't know)...he further expressed the belief that this model should be replicated throughout Jamaica (in fact this has already occurred with the garrison process...so his wishes are moot)
I recall protesting loudly at the time regarding this outrageous and sick pronouncement... everyone else seemed to take it in stride.
2. Now said Bruce Golding is defending (in Parliament and against our biggest trade & development partner!) a guy who is popularly known as the country's leading criminal boss...who controls his constituency. The political protection of the alleged but well known criminal extends to the Minister of "Justice" and an influential senator who acts as the crime boss' counsel.
This is a completely unprecedented development..... remarkable even for a country as rotten and corrupt as Jamaica.
We are now at a Latin American Banana Republic level...or perhaps one of the post Soviet client states like Tajikistan or Kazakhstan... 100% corrupt.
We have reached a new low...and sadly the bottom is not yet in sight.
