The Office of the Contractor General (OCG) says it will shortly begin a special audit of the contract award and procurement practices of the Ministry of Finance (MOF) and the public service.
The audit is being conducted as part of the OCG’s ongoing strategic programme to ensure full compliance on the part of all procuring public entities.
The audit will also include the ministry’s asset divestment practices.
The OCG says the finance minister Audley Shaw and the financial secretary, Dr. Wesley Hughes have been advised of the impending audit.
The Procurement Practices Audit will cover the period May 1, 2006 to December 31, 2009.
A high level team led by Craig Beresford, the OCG’s Senior Director of Monitoring Operations and Special Projects, will conduct the exercise.
