At the time most slot sold was above what Air J and Trinidad sold theirs for so they felt the heat for it.

if yes, what are the factors which influence those values?
considering the above, what were the characteristics of the Air J slots...number of arrival/departures allowed/week, times of those airplane movements, terminal assignments?
when you have that info....along with info on what BA offered for the asset and/or recent sale price on EQUIVALENT slots....
then your prognostications will have more validityTIVOLI: THE DESTRUCTION OF JAMAICA'S EVIL EMPIRE

It is not my prognostications at all. The fact is market value also play a role in any sale.- Don't let negative things break you, instead let it be your strength, your reason for growth. Life is for living and I won't spend my life feeling cheated and downtrodden.

your inferences and suggestions have consistently been that we should have gotten far more for the asset.
That may or may not be so.... but the point is you have offered no logical basis for those suggestions.....TIVOLI: THE DESTRUCTION OF JAMAICA'S EVIL EMPIRE

Heathrow slots scramble- Dominic O'Connell

PRICES for runway slots at Heathrow are taking off as airlines jostle for position ahead of the advent of a new open-skies regime next year.
Airline industry sources say airlines are demanding up to pound stg. 15 million ($35 million) per pair of slots - one take-off and one landing - at London's main airport, roughly double the going rate last year.
The trade in slots is secretive. There is no official market and airlines are reluctant to confirm whether they have bought or sold. Airlines do not officially buy and sell the slots - the right to use Heathrow's crowded runways at a given time of day - but arrange slot "transfers", swapping unattractive or unusable slots for prime-time positions.
But it is understood that American Airlines has recently bought slots from Gulf Air, while Luxair, the small Luxembourg airline, is understood to have solicited offers for its Heathrow holdings, with a decision on a winning bidder likely to be taken within a fortnight.

None of these airlines would comment.
Virgin Atlantic has recently snapped up slots from Air Jamaica, but British Airways denied suggestions it was in discussions with CSA, the Czech airline, over a slot deal.
Slots at Heathrow have been hard to come by for the past decade, with pairs changing hands for millions of pounds.
BA, the biggest slot holder at Heathrow with just over 40 of the total, has been the leading player, doing deals with United Airlines and the defunct Swissair, among others.
But airline executives say the scarcity of slots, combined with the advent of open skies, has made the market red hot.
"Most of the smaller players who would have been willing to cash in have already sold up - there is hardly anyone left who is a natural seller," said one Heathrow source. A new open-skies agreement between Europe and the US will from April remove restrictions on destinations served from Heathrow.
Until then, only British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, United and American can fly from the London hub to the US.
A number of large US airlines previously barred from the airport are scrambling to find slots.
Delta and Northwest are understood to have concluded deals with their European partner airlines, Air France and KLM, to start flights to their US hubs.- Don't let negative things break you, instead let it be your strength, your reason for growth.
