ADMIST reports of the police carrying out raids at various weekly dancehall events in the last two weeks, there have been suggestions that the birthday party for dancehall deejay, Mavado is hanging in the balance.
According to reliable sources, the police are “re-considering” the deejay’s application for a permit.
The party, to be attended by international recording artiste Bobby Valentino, is scheduled for Saturday at Temple Hall Estate in St Andrew.
Julian Jones-Griffiths, publicist for the Alliance, of which Mavado is a member, refused to confirm or deny the reports. “We will see what is happening and after tomorrow (today) I will speak. I don’t really want to say anything just now,” Jones-Griffiths told Chat! in a telephone interview last night.
