Police are hunting for a deejay, following the shooting of two people at a stage show at the Greater Portmore High School, St Catherine on Saturday night.
Patrons attending the event, had to run for cover as gunshot rang out in the wee hours of the morning, following a disagreement between the deejay and another entertainer, police told THE STAR yesterday.
Up to late last night the Portmore police declined to release the name of the deejay being sought. They have also declined to release the name of the other entertainer with whom he had the confrontation.
The injured people have been admitted to hospital in serious but stable conditions, the police said.
Reports are that about 4 a.m. both entertainers were on stage when an argument developed between them. The police said, during the confrontation one of the men pulled a firearm and fired several shots at the other who, along with patrons scampered for cover. In the aftermath, the two men were found suffering from gunshot wounds and were rushed to hospital. The names of the men are being withheld by the investigators.
