About this time last year, the Adventurers Group of St Matthews Church in Allman Town, Kingston, met in the skills training centre at the church to discuss the effects of the world financial crisis on Jamaica. Most of the forecast in that discussion has become a reality. The group met again on October 11 under the leadership of economist Dr Peter John Gordon, former deputy director of the Planning Institute of Jamaica and now a Research Fellow at the University of the West Indies to have another look at the situation.
