Before I express my disappointments, first, let me say that the Stone Love establishment will always stand second to none. Over the years they have opened many doors for the dancehall industry, granting many sound systems and artists alike a chance to gain world wide recognition. For this feat, dancehall fans must show eternal gratitude. If not for the Stone Love establishment, it is quite possible that to this day the industry would still be awaiting major development. Nevertheless, Stone Love is not immune from my blogs once they clash. So, just like everyone one else, they have to get it.
What’s up with that bull**** they called a performance on Saturday night? There are no words strong enough to describe how pitiful that **** was.
All jokes aside — Wee Pow must be disgusted. Despite knowing all their fans were overly excited to see them clash David Rodigan, Stone Love still showed up unprepared. Billy Slaughter didn’t know his ass from his elbow. Rory, who everyone came to see, was in the back picking tunes from a laptop all night. Diamond, one of the newest selectors on stone Love, was mixing the tunes. It was a recipe for disaster.
You mean to tell me Stone Love cares so little about their fans that they chose to show up unprepared. Why was Billy Slaughter even there? He can’t clash. He already embarrassed stone Love in the 45 Shoot Out a few years ago. Common sense would have told Stone Love to leave that **** in Jamaica. Slaughter should have been banned from Norman Manley airport for the weekend. Don’t get me wrong, Slaughter is my dog, but he lost it. He is not the Slaughter that dancehall fans fell in love with. He has absolutely no stage presence or speech to push Stone Love over the edge in a clash. Slaughter did so bad that old people started to boo him. Normally, older people don’t keep up ****ery, but he succeeded to bring out the worst in them. Nevertheless, Stone Love’s horrible performance was just half of Slaughter’s fault. The other half of the blame should be awarded to Rory, as he was the captain of the ship
Rory was telling Diamond and Slaughter what to play. I don’t know what the **** he was thinking! Most of his selections were either the wrong tune or the right tune played at the wrong time. He forgot to play a lot of Stone Love’s big dubs. In the first round, he started off with “Ice Cream Sound,” a dub that David Radian can’t play. Hello! It would have been wiser to save tunes like that for later on to ease off some of the ass kicking Rodigan gave them. Stone love played one dub off of their historical “Stone Love Punanny Juggling Riddim” as the last tune in the first round. ****s, idiots, fools, why play the Buju without the rest of the riddim? Why not save the whole riddim for the next round? It’s not like Rodigan could play it.
Are you ready for this one? Stone Love played “Driver” on dub and got the weakest forward I haveever seen a number one tune receive. You would think that since Wee Pow was not there, Rory would have helped out a situation by grabbing the mic and making Slaughter mix. But no, he left Slaughter out there to repeatedly make an ass of himself for four straight rounds.
Finally, during the “tune fi tune” segment, Rory took the mic and earned a few forwards for his team. Rory’s efforts allowed Stone Love to win the “tune fi tune” part of the clash. However, because each round was scored by a point system, Stone Love still lost.
My question is…… why did it take so long for Ro
