I agree with you here but it's a start. Yes there is not much technical going on here but who is to be blame? The education on computers at the secondary level seems substandard. I saw on school challenge where they asked questions like: name an I/o input device. students shouted back keyboard!! I see on TV where teachers are saying they can't write codes or teach because they lack this an that .BS! If you really want to learn about computers LINUX (opensource) is the way to go.
Look at the teacher, who went to Arg. Man had to teach himself (nothing really wrong because self reliance is good )

He wants to go to MIT; tell him get a beginner book on microproccessors (cost about $35. bucks at radio shack ; even has a mini breadboard) they live and breathe that at MIT.
