Condolences continue to come in for the family of late threatre producer and broadcaster, Wycliffe Bennett.
Mr. Bennett who was 87, died yesterday afternoon at the University Hospital of the West Indies following a long period of illness.
In paying tribute to the memory of the late broadcaster, Prime Minister Bruce Golding described Mr Bennett as Jamaica’s ‘Man of the Arts’.
Meanwhile the Press Association of Jamaica, (PAJ) has likened Mr Bennett to an icon.
PAJ president Byron Buckley said he is saddened by the passing of the stalwart.
Also the Chairman of the Broadcasting Commission, Dr Hopeton Dunn says Mr Bennett’s death has left a void that can never be filled.
Wycliffe Bennett was a former general manager of the now defunct Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation (JBC).
After leaving JBC, Mr Bennett became the chairman and chief executive officer of the Creative Production and Training Centre (CPTC) and held many other posts.
