Plush the information I am relaying to you is what Bruce Golding said. He said no redunancy this budget year but he will not say so for next and spoke of early retirement and volintary redunancy.

One thing for sure if the government of Jamaica don't support the cut, you can use your good school to know that the IMF will not support such a big government so you know some cut coming, the answer is when and how.

Again you don't answer my question. What you think would happen if there is no raises and a 20% cut in the public sector?

yes I believe in unions but they must more more in the workers interest and that also mean to make the company profitable for survival.

What I think will happen is people will get upset and protest. And then they will realize that the won't get paid if they don't go back to work....If Bruce lead my example and take a paycut and require his administation to do the same, then people can protest and get upset all they want, the country will move past it

                    ?????

I have no idea what you talking about.

Watch and see what happen in the next year because everybody know there has to be some cuts.

and by the way what did the federal government in the US cut?

there are a lot of sectors in trouble long time ago without any help or support from the unions.

You ask about salary cuts? You obviously haven't been paying attention have you? The gov't say no increase nurses have been calling sick since yesterday? Teachers were planning to disrupt the start of the school year etc. Yet you a ask bout salary cut?

Since they have no idea, "none at all" according to you, can you imagine the position we'd be in if they hadn't stood their ground under pressure from all the doubters bout the increases?
                        Err....do you recall posting this:

Lazie ..This makes no sense. This is the ideal time to address the oversized public sector. The wage bill is too big and it appears this gov't is afraid to take the necessary measures.
What did you mean by this pray tell??

Considering your strident criticism of Plush's commentary.... It appears you want to have your cake and eat it too regarding this issue.

Well, as much as I'm aware of the burden from the wage bill and the need for it to be addressed, I'm also aware of the push back the gov't is facing. You called me a flip flop once, no problem, I see it as taking a step back and looking at the big picture.

Plush in his exuberance claimed he is convinced the gov't has no clue, well again I ask, if the gov't didn't have a clue and simply went along and granted the increases, where would our fiscal situation be today?

                            ok... I see your position.

They do have a hard row to hoe...not of their own making. However they are now in charge & responsible.

I think his general point was that hard decisions should be made...and most administrations have failed to make them....including this one so far.
