The National Housing Trust (NHT) has defended its decision to auction 21 housing solutions at Providence Heights, Montego Bay which were sold under its Relocation 2000 Programme to residents of the inner-city communities of Railway Lane and Barracks Road.
The NHT was responding to an article published in the Observer last week highlighting the complaints of several residents who said they had fallen on hard times and were unable to meet their mortgage obligations and stood to lose their houses.
