I beg to differ....the Merrymen were very popular BUT what they sang was not calypso in the true sense....they were Bajans....

I am not a calypso expert...but I thoroughly enjoy the Merrymen rendition of the genre they were producing.

(Maybe it's like saying Reggae is not dancehall .........and vice versa!?)
