Unfortunately, this group lasted for only several months and, as far as I’m aware, did not record anything. The group Third World, I suspect, played a huge role in their formation, and Flight might have even used a few of Third World’s instruments. I remember at the first concert by Flight, Irvin “Carrot” Jarrett and Michael “Ibo” Cooper were sitting in the row immediately behind me with two beautiful ladies who I presume were their dates.
Flight’s music, as I recall it, was a combination of rock, funk and jazz. And the music was very loud!! In a time when groups like the Grace Thrillers and David Keane and the Sunshine Singers and the Insights Band ruled local gospel music, a progressive North American-sounding outfit like Flight stood little chance on the local gospel scene.
