The cop acted the fool...most likely blinded by his being a racist! It matters not if a citizen sticks his tongue out at the cop he is the professional here and should put his training to work. The cop acted the fool!

he did but obama was WRONG to make the comment he did and gates perhaps ought not to have issued a statement saying that if the cop publicly apologises he might consider accepting the apology....escalated it into a pithing contest (sorry about the lisp....toni braxton and all you know...)

he probably is but as he said, the amn is his friend AND he doesn't have all the facts..having said that...to say that the police was stupid is incongrous.

he said the officer did something stupid. turns out he was right. this is not difficult, gamma. you don't establish that someone is in his own house and then arrest him for nonsense!

my position is known..."acted stupidly" is term used. ALL i am saying is that having established that gates is his friend, that he does not have all the facts, he should not gone on to make that statement, especially as the president.

if you look at my posts on the matter you will see what my position is and remains...

Perhaps he had all the facts given..., it is ill-advised for a President to comment on such matters however if he had spewed the usual rhetoric about police officers need to be given the benefit of the doubt, that would've been accepted. Ongle Obama would've done what he did, and I am sure he will give a retraction IF(not proven otherwise) needed gamma.

He did say why he thought the police were stupid. He surely meant the cop and his boss or whoever it was that did not immediately laugh at the cop and apologise to the homeowner.

Cops say they are neither racist nor rogue.

                      Perhaps.

Doesn't answer the stupid part, however!

WASHINGTON – The White House says the media's "obsessions" are keeping alive President Barack Obama's comments about the arrest of a Harvard scholar seen trying to get into his own house.
Asked whether Obama regretted commenting on the matter, spokesman Robert Gibbs told reporters that the president probably would regret distracting the media with "obsessions."
Gibbs says Obama has "great respect" for police officers and understands what a hard job they have.
He also says Obama has said most of what he's going to say on the matter.
When questioned Wednesday night about the incident, Obama said the Cambridge, Mass., police had "acted stupidly."
In an interview a day later, he said "cooler heads should have prevailed."

Can you check to see if Gates constitutional rights
were violated? Afterall he was arrested in his own home without a warrant.

                          Thanks.

We know that Obama would never had made those statements while seeking the presidency. It's a pity he still can't speak the truth from his heart as the president.

                              Welcome to America, Barack!
