A man said to be involved in the illicit guns for drugs trade was on Monday sentenced to 120 years in prison.
Courtney Jones, a taxi operator of Salt Spring in Montego Bay, St. James was sentenced Monday in the Gun Court in Kingston.
He was held with eight illegal guns in February this year.
Jones' arrest arose out of an incident when police personnel from Operation Kingfish and the Mobile Reserve stopped and searched a dark blue Nissan Sunny motor car being driven by Jones on Kings Street in Old Harbour, Clarendon on Sunday February 8, 2009, was stopped and searched.
"Eight guns and 90 rounds of assorted ammunition were found in the vehicle. Jones was arrested and charged and brought before the Gun Court," said Detective Sergeant Jubert Llewellyn, Spokesman for Operation Kingfish.
Jones pleaded guilty to all eight counts of illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
He was sentenced to 15 years on each count which are to run concurrently.
