The Private Sector Organization of Jamaica (PSOJ) says Government needs to get moving on passing the much talked about crime bills into law.
The organization noted that it was "absolutely dismayed" that the bills are have not been passed nine months after they were tabled in the House of Representatives.
PSOJ President Christopher Zacca says the lack of action in relation to the crime bills is unacceptable, considering that the bills have been hailed as being crucial to managing the country's surging crime rate.
Mr. Zacca has implored the nation's Parliamentarians to act swiftly to pass the six bills into law, if they are serious about significantly reducing the levels of crime and violence in the society.
The PSOJ head noted that the crime wave was hampering the efforts of business persons to overcome the effects of the global recession and engender a resurgence of economic growth in the country.
