This year, Jamaicans for Justice (JFJ) marks ten years of existence. Since meeting as a small group in the aftermath of the gas riots in April 1999, JFJ has blossomed into one of Jamaicas premier non-governmental organizations (NGOs) advocating for citizens rights. Through the efforts of our membership, secretariat and board our work has expanded into areas such as access to information, child care and protection, human rights education in schools and social and economic justice education.
To mark this important ten-year milestone, we will be celebrating via several events throughout the year. We begin with a thanksgiving and re-dedication service to be held at the St. Josephs Catholic Church, 13 King Street, Spanish Town, St. Catherine beginning at 9 a.m. on Sunday, May 10, 2009.
As one of our founding members, we extend a special invitation for you to join in our celebratory mass. Monsignor Richard Albert (also a founding member) will be our Celebrant.
We thank you for your support, commitment and friendship over the past ten years and we look forward seeing you.
Sincerely,
Jamaicans for Justice
