Davies raising insurance concerns

The Opposition wants the Finance Minister to investigate the awarding of contracts for insurance coverage at three state owned agencies.
They are the Airports Authority of Jamaica, the Port Authority of Jamaica, and the Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica.
The Opposition's call comes against the background of information it has received that there is currently no insurance coverage for the assets of the Port Authority of Jamaica and the Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica.
These two agencies have assets that run into billion of dollars.
The Opposition said in the case of the Airports Authority of Jamaica, it went without coverage for a number of weeks.
Opposition Spokesman on Finance, Omar Davies said its scandalous that three of the largest state owned agencies could be placed in jeopardy by not having insurance coverage.
