Trade Board dismissed

Industry, investment and Commerce Minister Karl Samuda has demanded the immediate resignation of the Board of the Directors of the Trade Board.
He has also demanded the resignation of the Trade administrator while the Assistant Trade Administrator has been sent on leave
The Minister’s directive follows a meeting this afternoon with the Trade Board Chairman, the Trade Administrator and officers of the Ministry.
The meeting was held to discuss matters relating to the importation of motor vehicles, and the Trade Board’s action in granting motor vehicle licences outside the stated Ministry policy.
Mr Samuda said his examination of several reports relating to the importation and licensing of motor vehicles found that the Trade Board abused its authority.
