or it seems like the Justice system in Jamaica doing a little better job of attacking some of the criminals of late?

Of note I heard Christine Hewitt formerly of Man Talk husband has been charged in her death which happened 3 years ago.

Cops seek other person in connection with Hewitt's death

HAULAGE contractor David Gordon was yesterday charged with the brutal murder of his wife Christine Hewitt, whose charred remains were discovered in a burnt-out motor vehicle almost three years ago.

Gordon, 27, was also charged with conspiracy to murder.

The charges were laid yesterday against Gordon following some three hours of questioning by members of the Major Investigation Taskforce in the presence of his lawyer, Michael Deans.

Another person is also being sought by the police in connection with the murder, sources close to the case told Chat!.

“Gordon was charged following very intense investigation, DNA and other circumstantial evidence,” a highly placed member of the constabulary told Chat!.

When contacted yesterday, Deans said that his client will appear in the Linstead Resident Magistrate’s Court in St Catherine, next week Wednesday, at which time a bail application will be made on his behalf.

Gordon was taken into custody two Fridays ago in connection with the June 2006 murder of the 42-year-old feisty and witty music promoter and former host of TVJ’s Man Talk programme.

Gordon was questioned shortly after the murder but was not charged. His travel documents were however, taken by the police and never returned.

Following Hewitt’s disappearance, her charred remains were discovered in a burnt-out Townace minivan, registered 3451EU, along a lonely rural road at Bamboo District in Riversdale, St Catherine.

Several hours before the discovery, Hewitt was seen in the van with a passenger.

Gordon, who is 18 years younger than Hewitt, wed her some two years before the murder.

Personally I thought this was gonna be an unsolved case. At least the police were still on the case.
