Strategies to arrest escalation of crime

Jamaica is faced with a cancerous crime problem that is enveloping the entire nation. The severe and escalating crime was usually found in inner-city areas, but it has spread to rural and suburban areas having an impact on rich, poor, educated, non-educated, humble, proud, influential and ordinary citizens of Jamaica. The public and private sectors have been looking at short- and long-term measures along with policies to impact the severe crime wave, and this is commendable and appreciated.
In addition to these suggestions, the strategies of having (1) murder, gun and gang unit (MGG) implementation (2) intense acute investigations in targeted crime locations (3) frequent amnesty periods for guns and (4) rapid-response methods will have significant effects in stemming the spread of crime...
